考研英语每日词汇（180）

1、dull/dʌl/

dull作形容词，大致有三方面的意思，第一种意为“乏味的，单调的”，第二意为“模糊的，阴暗的，不明显的”，第三指人“愚笨的”。其中第二种引申出来的意思比较多，可以指天气“阴沉的”，指声音“沉闷的”，指疼痛“隐隐的”，还可以指刀口“不锋利的”。总之，dull的适用范围还是比较广的，对这些意思要熟悉，在阅读中根据语境就很容易理解了。

The documentary lasts for more than two-and-a-half hours, and there is scarcely a dull minute.
该纪录片片长超过两个半小时,却鲜有沉闷之处。
